Sundays in the sun and lawn men
Our weekend has consisted birthdays, kiddos and cake.Oh, yeah, and bouncy houses.Yesterday we made the trip down south to visit the cousins for a certain 5 year old's birthday party. Its crazy to think she is five now and starting school. I met her for the first time when she was just a few months old, and her age will always be a reminder for how long Jon and I have been together....or how long we have been together will remind us of how old she is...either or.JJ's uncle steve is a bouncy house guy...so of course every birthday party consists of some inflatable toy that fills the entire back yard. Last year it was water slides...this year it was a bouncy house.JJ wasn't so sure about it at first, but warmed up to the idea after he saw all the grown-ups jumping too:P
Some time with auntie Amz too:P
(this on is animated...so if its not working...just click on it)
It was a fun, loud day.20 kids under the age of 10 in one house is always a good form of birth control.------------------Once home, while fixing some snacks before bed, we looked out the window and were rather surprised to see a man lounging in our yard, playing with a cat.The cat we recognized,The man we did not. Now, let me explain something...If we lived in a larger city, in some overpopulated urban landscape...I may come to expect a sight like this and think absolutely nothing of it.But out town is weird. Its small...very small...but our town has "little man" syndrome and is constantly trying to be more grown up that it is. The street we live on is a mini ghetto. Our yard also seems to be the gathering place for all the neighborhood kids from about a ten block radius. Again, I know not why.Anyway, There was this man on our lawn.to give you and idea of how large our lawn it...well...you basically have four feet of grass between the sidewalk and our porch. It was obvious lounging. Why he picked our cramped yard, I'll never know.He stayed for a while...a long while...we chose to let him be. Truth be told, we didn't care at all. Just thought it...ahh...curious.I would have taken a picture...but thought that would make the situation a little more awkward. What is the moral of the story you ask?Well, if your ever in the neighborhood and you feel the need to curl up in some overgrown grass with a random street cat...our yards for you.No questions asked.(because no answered are wanted)
*ahem*you are welcome.
-----------------------------------Today our plans are the beach I think, and perhaps some coffee and pastries somewhere. A little mini adventure to finish out our weekend sounds good to me.Now, off to nap time.
